  • Work Permit / Visa - Permit must be valid for the full length of the finance agreement.
  • Proof of employment in the form of a copy of their contract of employment (This must include details of the customers remuneration).
  • Written consent from the customer for us to contact their employer (email or letter)
  • Please note if the customer is a Self-Employed Foreign National we would deem this too high risk to consider.

Proof of mobile phone number

Guarantor

Tax Return (P60 or SA302)

Proof of Employment

Photo ID and proof of current address (POCA)

This is to ensure the customers mobile number proposed is correct. Often a mobile number entered incorrectly will link to another customer/third party and we have an obligation to ensure the details proposed are accurate. Please provide the customers latest mobile phone bill clearly showing number, name and address.

Please add a spousal or parental guarantor on the first submission for non working (excluding retired) part time employed, and those under 21 to ensure a quick decision.

Please ensure the Guarantor lives at the same address as the applicant. In circumstances where this isn't possible, please add notes in FAMOS explaining this.

A tax return (Form SA302) will be requested for a Self-Employed individual. This is instead of bank statements as we are often unable to verify self-employed customers income on bank statements.

Please do not send Tax Calculations, please only send the most recent tax return that has been filed.

Can be supplied in the form of the customers contract of employment; alternatively we would accept the last 3 months payslips with corresponding bank statements.

We often require Proof of ID and address when the customer has recently moved,to verify their new address. Alternatively this could be to confirm the customers identity as they have previously been a victim of identity theft. Please note all proofs must be dated in the last 90 days (3 months).

Please provide either:

  • UK Driving Licence
  • Passport
  • Shotgun Certificate
    AND / OR
  • Council Tax Bill
  • Utility Bill (Electric, Water, Gas, Landline Telephone, Broadband)
  • HMRC Tax Return
  • Solicitors Completion Letter
  • Postal Bank Statement
  • Bank Statement / Letter issued in branch, on headed paper, with branch stamp. We no longer require a bank employee signature.

Please note that the bank account must be held in the customers own name (joint account is acceptable) but does not need to be the account we have in the proposal.

New Start Limited Companies

Limited Companies - Hints & Tips

This process is applicable on all applications for Limited Companies where they have less than 3 years of filed accounts at Company's House.

Please note we will not consider the application with a Non-UK National who has resided in the UK for less than 3 years.

We require the below information before we can review the application:-

  • Director Guarantee

  • Company Accounts containing Full Financial Information (draft version fine) or Year-To-Date Profit and Loss, with an up-to-date balance sheet.

  • If they have very recently started trading (Under 3 months) then a recent business bank statement / Last 3 months business bank statements

  • Confirmation of business activities (i.e. what they do, website etc.)

  • Director’s trading history (i.e. previously sole trader for xx years)

  • If the business previously traded as sole trader or partnership, we would expect to receive the sole trader tax returns (incl. most recent tax year-end) and partnership accounts, for period end immediately prior to the incorporation date

Please put notes in the proposal before submitting stating that you have sent the additional information across. We will then allow time for Underwriting Admin to process the information that has been sent.

Partnerships (Non-Limited)

Additional information required at proposal submission for Partnerships. Please see details below of what will be required up front going forward:

  •  Both partners added, all partnerships should have 2 partners added

  • SA800 partnership tax return. Please note that the partners provided on the application must be listed on the tax return.

  • Confirmation of the partnerships trading activities (e.g. what they do, website, where they trade from etc.)

  • Partners trading history if applicable (e.g. previously sole trader, or limited company for xx years)

Please note where the above information is not supplied on the first submission it may cause further delays and resubmissions to reach a decision.

Fronted Applications - Correct Process

To ensure the Terms & Conditions of our Finance Agreements are met, we are providing the correct approach to any type of ‘fronting’ application. Please see details below.

  • In all cases, the agreement must be in the name of the main driver and a guarantor is added where the applicant is not creditworthy in their own right. Some examples of this include: non working, part-time employed, under the age of 21.  Please note that both applicants must have a clear credit history.

  • The Customer/Guarantor must be a UK tax payer with a UK bank account to pay for the agreement.

  • The only exception to the rule is under 18 year olds who cannot take finance out in their own name, however the Parent/Guardian needs to live at the same address and must hold a full drivers licence.

  • Guarantors will remain on the agreement for the full term.
